I cry out for thy power

In your name, whatever it may be, or what ever form you might take, i ask of you:

Let you face shine upon the African farmers who pay the cost of western consumerism and European imperialism. Walk by them and give them the support we fail to summon

Let you healing light guide those who will die in diseases we know how to cure but choose not to. Carry them when we choose money over dignity and compassion

Hold your hand over the freedom fighters of the world, who dwell in forests and mountains and sing songs of the day when the flowers and the soil belongs to everyone. Let their aim be true and their hearts never grow bitter

Be the last hope of the imprisoned in unjust wars and for the parents and friends to those who felt the consequence of the American way. Let them know that no power can last forever and that judgement will come.

Explain the new world to those who live in Diaspora, who was forced to leave everything that was loved and good and are now seen as the other and a stranger. Give them the smell and taste of the fruit and bread of the old country when the new lacks the will to share their passion.

And let your kingdom come and your spirit be present for all who struggle with loneliness, for those who live their last days away from home and the beloved, for the new slaves of the colonialism we call multinational trade, for the victims of violent patriarchal dominance, for the children that starve and the weakened millions of the countries we in the west have chosen to keep in poverty and dependence.

Hear my prayer, hear my call, listen to their voices, and know that we need you. You are the lord, and we know that you are the divine power within us, you are the good and the brave in all of us, a prayer to you is a call to us, we will not wait for a divine power to aid us because we are the divine power and we are the almighty. God is just another word for our own power to change the world and destroy the evil forces that we create. And I truly believe in god.
